Plastic extrusions are made by heating raw materials in pellet form and forcing them through a shaped die to form a continuous profile.
The profile extrusion process starts by feeding plastic granules into an extruder machine where it is heated until molten. The material is then pushed through a die that defines the shape of the profile. After exiting the die the profile is cooled and cut to length. At MKM Extrusions, this method is used to produce a wide range of PVC trims and profiles, including plastic angle trims, plastic channels and plastic flat bar strips. All stock profiles are primarily offered as rigid PVC, though some are also available in a flexible version. For larger volumes, custom extrusions may be possible.
