Advantages of in-house extrusion tooling

At MKM Extrusions, we have in-house extrusion tooling facilities so we can manufacture our own extrusion tooling. Some UK extrusion companies manufacture on their own premises, but may outsource the manufacturing of the tooling. This means the custom extrusion process takes longer. When they receive the tooling they need to test it, and if modifications are needed they have to send the tooling back to the other company to modify. The process continues until the tooling reaches the required standard to start the production run.

Our in-house tooling facilities are particularly helpful for our customers. We have a fast turnaround and we can easily make modifications to the tooling prior to approval. We are very streamlined and efficient in our custom extrusion capabilities, with custom tooling normally taking 3-4 weeks. Read more about our custom extrusion process.

We also have complete control over quality as we are accredited with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
