Flexible PVC contains added plasticisers which makes it soft and bendable, whilst rigid PVC holds its shape better .
Both forms are made from the same base PVC material, but the formulation differs. Rigid PVC is similar to a ruler, it is hard though in some cases may flex over a long length. On the other hand, flexible PVC is softer and bends similar to a belt around your waist, so it is often used on a radius.
At MKM Extrusions, all products on our online shop are manufactured from rigid PVC. A smaller selection of profiles, such as flat strips and barb profiles, are also available in a flexible version, and are supplied in coils. Each type suits different needs depending on the application.
