uPVC is a type of plastic, the letters are an abbreviation for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride. It is a rigid and durable material used in profile extrusion applications.
Unlike flexible PVC, uPVC does not contain added plasticisers. This gives it a firm structure and makes it suitable for applications where flexibility is not needed. Some forms of uPVC are weather resistant which can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments. At MKM Extrusions, all the rigid plastic profiles on our online shop are made from uPVC, but not the type used for window or double glazing applications.
